Whatever you’re carrying – stress, uncertainty, or just a rough day – we make it easier to talk to someone who gets it.
Learn MoreNeed support or advice without the commitment of starting therapy? Drop by or schedule a time to meet with one of our licensed clinicians for an easy, one-time chat. Available for adolescents and young adults. Choose between a 30- or 60-minute in-person session.
Life can move fast, and sometimes challenges escalate unexpectedly. We’re here to help you and your family manage the moments that feel too big to handle alone.
Learn MoreMost mental health crises don’t require a trip to the emergency room. Our urgent care services offer timely, expert assessments and consultations—giving you clarity and support without the stress of a hospital environment.
Every Urgent Care visit includes an evaluation of the issue, treatment and safety planning, and as needed, referrals to a higher level of care to ensure you and your loved ones get the right support at the right time.
If you or someone you know is in immediate danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Not sure what kind of support you need? That’s exactly what we’re here for.
Learn MoreAt SHFT, we provide tailored, ongoing mental health support—including therapy and medication management – for young people and families.
Getting started is simple: schedule an initial evaluation, show up as you are, and we’ll take it from there.
Together, we’ll explore what you’re navigating — emotionally, mentally, and situationally — and identify the types of support that could make a difference. That might include therapy, medication, family or school strategies, or even small changes like better sleep, more movement, or stronger social connection.
You’ll leave with clear, tailored recommendations and a path forward — whether that means continuing care with us or connecting to something that’s a better fit.
No pressure. No guesswork. Just the next right step.
Pricing and insurance
SHFT is an out-of-network provider, which means we don’t work directly with insurance plans. This gives us the freedom to focus entirely on what matters most: delivering care that’s personalized, effective, and never limited by third-party rules.
After each appointment, you’ll receive a superbill – a detailed receipt with everything your insurance provider needs to process an out-of-network claim. You can submit it for potential reimbursement or keep it for your financial records.
Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, so we recommend reaching out to your insurance provider directly to understand your benefits for out-of-network mental health services.

Do you offer virtual care?
We prioritize in-person services because we believe meaningful connection, safety, and healing are best supported face-to-face, especially during the early stages of care. Given the acuity and complexity of many of the young people we serve, in-person visits allow us to provide the most effective, responsive support. Virtual care is available for clients engaging in routine care.
What age groups do you focus on?
We specialize in adolescents and young adults, ages 10 to 30.
What are the parking options?
Street parking is available on Franklin, Superior, and nearby streets. SHFT is also conveniently located next to the CTA Brown/Purple line stop for easy transit access.
What types of payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, as well as payments via Zelle and Venmo. Most services are also eligible for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
